apple pickin pie
It's been nearly perfect autumn weather lately. I think today is the first official day of autumn, so as an early celebration yesterday we ventured west towards Connecticut to pick some apples. The little farm that we ended up at had all sorts of new varieties of apples, some of which haven't been officially named yet. We asked the farmer guy how many we'd need to make a pie and he suggested a peck. That seemed like a reasonable size at the time, but we now have a pie and a bag still almost full of apples (our pie only took 6 apples total!) The farm also had pumpkins, mums, honey, raspberries, and dads chasing after their kids for a good photo. One dad actually had a still camera in one hand and a video camera in the other. So in that spirit, I pulled my camera out too.
